hey. gary is now selling mp3's of his cd's from his site (www.garywillis.com). i remember steve saying that one of them had some sick chambers on it....was it "bent" or "no sweat"?? or are they both killer??

i just received some stuff from audiophile too...the new Tetsuo Sakarai DVD with chambers and greg howe which is excellent....nothing new from dennis and nothing overly flash but he makes it feel so good. NO other drummer would play a heavy fusion gig the way he does...he just lays it down like a mo fo. nicely produced too and lots of content. recommended!!!

and also got the kiyomi otaka CD with gary willis and dave weckl. kiyomi is a killer hammond organ player and the CD is very nice. great to hear dave as a sideman and with an organ player.....lovely playing as always.

I was just checking out that Kiyomi Otaka cd on Audiophile Imports and it sounds very cool. I definitely need to pick it up. I just wish the Japanese imports weren't so expensive.

I probably would have never heard of it, so, thanks for mentioning it. HOD is such a great place to find out about new music.

I would get both.
Some really cool funk by Chambers & Willis.
Willis loves space between notes. Chambers fits this like a glove.

I've got the "Bent" CD and chambers kills it on there. Kirt Covington's on there too and does a fine job himself. Worth getting...

Both have Dennis/Covington. Mostly Dennis. I would get both discs. They are really nice. Just don't expect it to be like Tribal Tech. Gary has his own quirky thing going on with these. Cool stuff!

thanks guys, i will try and get both cds then.

having listened to the kiyomi otaka CD about 4 or 5 times in my car....i have to say its probably my fav dave CD EVER! and thats saying a lot...i mean its still fusion and he still plays busy - but it does have more feel than the stuff with his band. a little more restrained and cool music - and im a real sucker for that hammond organ sound. check the CD out if u can!!!
